How do I add a Custom Field to Services?

To add a Custom Field to Service  object, choose Manage > Custom Fields

Custom Fields for Services object can be created in the Service section:

Click +Add Custom Field to add a new Custom Fieldhow-do-i-add-a-custom-field-to-services

Complete the following fields:

FieldDescription
NameEnter the label for the Custom Field
CodeEnter an internal code, which will appear in two places:
  • on a CSV file when this data is exported
  • in an email template Please enter a code with no spaces and one which is unique amongst the Custom Fields in your accounts | | Model Type | This is the object that the Custom Field relates to.  It will be pre-selected to Service, but can be changed | | Data Type | Select the data type for the field from the following options:
  • Text
  • Long Text
  • Multiple
  • Yes/No
  • Number
  • Date | | History | Select this checkbox to record all changed made to the value entered in this Field | | Customer Visible | Select this checkbox for this Field to be visible to the Customer Not applicable to all Model Types | | Customer Editable | Select this checkbox for this Field to be editable by the Customer Not applicable to all Model Types | | Default Value | Enter a value that you would like this Field to be pre-filled with Or leave this section blank | | Values | If you have selected 'Multiple' in the Data Type, enter the value selections here Please enter the values in a list, one underneath the other |

Click Save

This Custom Field will appear when creating a new Service or editing a Service, in the Custom Fields Tab

To add a Custom Field to Services, tap Manage, then tap Custom Fields

Tap Edit

In theSERVICE FIELDS section, then tap + Add Custom Field

Complete the following fields:

  • Date | | Values | If you have selected 'Multiple' in the Data Type, enter the value selections in the Values Field.  These values need to be entered in a list, one beneath the other |

Tap Save

This Custom Field will appear when creating a new Service or editing a Service

To add a Custom Field to Services, tap Manage, then tap Custom Fields

Tap the green + icon and complete the fields in the New Custom Field box:

Object TypeSelect an Object Type from the Object Type drop-down list. The Object Type is the object that the Custom Field relates to. It will be pre-selected as Customer, but to change, select Service from the list of options
Data TypeSelect the data type for the field from the following options:
  • Text
  • Long Text
  • Multiple
  • Yes/No
  • Number
  • Date | | History | Slide the enable button to the right to record all changes made to the value entered in this Field | | Customer Visible | Slide the enable button to the right for this Field to be visible to the Customer (Not applicable to all Model Types) | | Customer Editable | Slide the enable button to the right for this Field to be editable by the Customer (Not applicable to all Model Types) | | Default  | Enter a value that you would like this Field to be pre-filled with or leave this section blank | | Multi Values | If you have selected 'Multiple' in the Data Type, enter the value selections in the Values Field.  These values need to be entered in a list, one beneath the other |

Tap SAVE
