Online Booking: How do I take deposits and payments online?

Ovatu can process online deposits and payments using Stripe, Square and PayPal

Please note, Online Booking needs to be enabled before deposits and payments can be taken. [See How do I customise my Online Booking settings?]

To take deposits and payments online, you must first connect your PayPal, Stripe and/or Square account

How do I connect my Square account?

Then choose Online Booking > Settings and scroll down to the Payments section

Complete the required fields:

Enable Online Payments Select this checkbox to enable online payments
DepositThis field allows you to set an online booking deposit for all Reservations
Enter the deposit amount
Use the blue toggle to select if this is a fixed amount ($) or percentage (%)
For no deposit required, set to 0, or leave blank
To override this for specific Services, see instructions for: How do I add a new Service?
Allow Pay in Full OptionSelect this checkbox to give Customers the option to pay in full
Allow Pay Later OptionSelect this checkbox to give Customers the option of not paying anything until they arrive for their appointment
Deposit Policy ContentEnter a message explaining your business online deposit policy
To include the calculated deposit amount in your message, use the placeholders: {amount} or {percentage}
If left blank, a default message will appear
Enable Card CaptureSelect this checkbox to capture Customer credit card details
This is a global setting and will apply to all Services (apart from 0 value services). It is possible to enable Card Capture for specific services only, see How do I add a new Service?
Please note: Card Capture is only available via Stripe and Square
Card Capture Policy ContentEnter a message explaining your business card capture policy
If left blank, a default message will appear
Enable Payment Remainder RequestThis checkbox refers to the payment remainder showing in Sale and Reservation emails to Customers. 
Select this checkbox to include an option for the Customer to pay any outstanding amount online

Click Save
