How do I add buffer time to appointments?


Buffer Time allows you to add 'padding' time to your appointments, for events such as travel or cleaning


Please note: Currently, Buffer Times can only be setup on the Web App (iOS and Android are in progress), and bookings created in the web and iOS apps (not android yet) and online will include Buffer Times. Buffer Times applied to bookings are reflected in online booking availability.


When Buffer Times are set for a service, they are not applied bookings already created. They will be applied to bookings created after the Buffer Times have been set though. To apply newly added Buffer Times settings to an existing booking please create that booking again, then delete the original one. 


Buffer Time is added to each Service individually. To add Buffer Time to a Service, click Manage > Services > List then click on the Edit button for a Service and then on the Buffer Times tab:


Complete the following fields:

Pre-Service Buffer TimeEnter the number of minutes buffer time required before the service.
Leave blank if no buffer is required
Post-Service Buffer TimeEnter the number of minutes buffer time required after the service.
Leave blank if no buffer is required
Buffer Time ModeThese modes affect how the buffer times should behave in a multi-service appointment (select one):
Apply buffer times between services: 
This mode applies the buffer before and after each individual service within the booking.
For example: Pre Buffer - Service - Post Buffer - Pre Buffer - Service - Post Buffer
Aggregate all service buffer times: 
This mode includes all pre buffer times for all services in a booking at the beginning of the booking, and all the post buffer times for all the services in a booking at the end of the booking.
For example: Pre Buffer - Pre Buffer - Service - Service - Post Buffer - Post Buffer.
Longest service buffer time applies: This mode applies only the longest pre-buffer at the beginning of the booking and only the longest post-buffer at the end of the booking.
For example: Longest Pre Buffer - Service - Service - Longest Post Buffer


Buffer Time will be represented on your Bookings page with the grey striped section:
