Services: What is ‘Processing’ and ‘Finishing’ time?

‘Processing’ and ‘Finishing’ times allow you split a service into parts.

  1. The initial part e.g. apply hair colour (Duration)
  2. The gap where the Employee is free to tend to a separate appointment e.g. while colour sets (Processing)
  3. The last part, where the Employee returns to complete the Service e.g. to remove hair colour (Finishing)

To set the ‘Processing’ and ‘Finishing’ times for a Service, choose Manage > Services > List

Click the Edit icon against the Service name

Enter values (minutes) for the Duration, Processing and Finishing fields:

Click Save

A reservation for a service with the settings 15-30-15, will appear to the customer (booking online) as a 1 hour appointment. It will appear in your diary as below:

Underneath the Duration, Processing and Finishing fields, is the Customer Time Mode field:

This field allows you to select which times (Duration, Processing & Finishing) are displayed to the Customer.

Select from:

  • Duration + Processing + Finishing times
    Duration time only
    Duration + Processing times only

eg, if Duration is 15, Processing is 30, and Finishing is 15, but Customer Time Mode is Duration + Processing times only, the Reservation will appear to the Customer as a 45 minute Reservation, but internally, it will be scheduled for 60 minutes.
