Supporting Accommodation & Homelessness for Women and Children

We’re incredibly proud to share that the Gadhu playground at the Nowra women’s refuge is now complete and already bringing so much joy to the children and families who call the refuge home.

From climbing and sliding to exploring and laughing together. It’s quickly become a place to play and be kids, something every child deserves.

A Safe Space for Play, Healing and Connection

For women and children staying at the refuge, life can often feel uncertain. A safe, welcoming outdoor space like the Gadhu playground offers more than just play equipment it offers moments of normality.

It’s a space where children can move, imagine, and laugh freely, while mothers can pause, breathe, and watch their kids feel safe again.

Thanks to the generosity of everyone involved, this playground will support around 65 people each year, including 20 children.

Why This Matters to Us

As an Australian-owned business, Ovatu is built on the idea of community.

We support small businesses every day and we believe that same care should extend into the communities we’re part of.

More Than a Playground

This project isn’t just about swings and slides. It’s about:

  • giving children a safe place to play
  • helping women and children feel supported
  • and creating moments of hope where they’re needed most

We’re deeply grateful to have played a small part in something that will make such a meaningful difference.
